If you have priced a HydraFacial in Beirut recently, you already know the number is not the problem. One session feels reasonable. It is the second, and the fourth, and the one you book before a wedding, that turn a treatment into a subscription.
This is an honest comparison, written by people who sell an at-home device. We are not neutral, so we are going to be specific about what the clinic does better.
What you are actually paying for
A hydrodermabrasion facial does three things in one pass. It softens and lifts the top layer of dead skin, it uses water and suction to pull out what is sitting in the pore, and it puts hydration back in before the pore closes again. The water is the part that matters. A dry pore vacuum drags against the skin, which is why sensitive skin bruises and reddens. Water gives the suction something to work against.
That is the treatment. Everything else you are paying for is the room, the time, and the person.
Where the money goes over a year
Book once and you have bought a good afternoon. Book monthly, which is what most clinics recommend to keep pores clear, and you are into a different category of spending. Run the number for your own clinic: take the single session price and multiply it by twelve. That figure is the honest comparison, not the single session.
The reason clinics quote per session is that per session it always sounds fine.
What the clinic genuinely does better
Three things, and they are real.
A professional looks at your skin first. If you have active acne, rosacea, or you are on retinoids or accutane, that assessment matters and a device in your bathroom does not replace it.
The equipment is stronger. Clinical machines run higher suction with more tip options. On deeply congested skin, the first session at a clinic will pull out more than your first session at home.
Someone else does it. This sounds trivial and it is not. Doing your own face takes ten minutes you have to actually spend.
If you have a skin condition, see a dermatologist. Nothing below applies to you.
What at home does better
It costs once. After the device, the only running cost is water and the occasional tip.
You can do it on your own schedule. The reason monthly is the clinic recommendation is that monthly is what people will book. Pores do not run on a monthly cycle. Being able to run a pass the night before something, without an appointment, is worth more than the strength difference for most people.
Nobody sees your skin at its worst. Some people care about this a lot.
The honest answer
If you go once or twice a year for an occasion, keep going to the clinic. You are buying an experience and it is a good one.
If you have been going monthly, or you stopped going because of what it added up to, the maths changes completely. That is the person an at-home device is for.
What we make
HydroBloom is a hydrodermabrasion device for home use. It uses water suction rather than a dry vacuum, which is the same reason clinics use water. It is $79, delivered free anywhere in Lebanon, and you can pay cash when it arrives.
It is not a clinical machine and we are not going to pretend it is. It is the version of the treatment you can run yourself, as often as you want, for the price of one or two sessions.
